We are committed to assisting you through the entire process of buying and designing a monument.
Get in contact and we’ll start with a no-pressure consultation. We’d be honored to spend some time learning more about your loved one in order to design the perfect memorial for them. We can discuss hobbies and interests they had, things you love about their personality, and any ideas you might have in mind. From there, we can give you helpful options and information to consider.
First, contact us. We’ll start with a no-pressure consultation where we discuss your ideas and preferences to narrow down the perfect memorial.
We customize every monument we make so it is authentic to the person it is for. We will write up your order with all of the information for your stone, and what you would like to have engraved on the stone.
After a deposit has been paid we will begin the design work on your order. Please allow 5-7 business days for you to receive your first proof. We ask that you carefully review it to make sure that names are spelled correctly, the dates are correct, etc. Production time starts when the proof has been approved and the order has been paid in full.
When the design and lettering have been engraved on the stone we will pour the concrete border on the stone here at our shop.
The completed stone and concrete are then transported to the cemetery and installed by us. We will contact the cemetery in advance and coordinate with them for the location and placement of the stone.
Once your stone has been completed and installed in the cemetery, we will call and email you to notify that it has been installed.
The proof and approval process typically takes 1-3 weeks depending on the complexity of the design and revision requests.
From the time that the design is approved, the typical completion time is 3-6 weeks. Please note that this is dependent on weather, material stock, workload, and time of year.
Pricing is determined by the size, shape and granite color. This pricing includes the stone, engraving, concrete and installation in cemeteries within a 60-mile radius of Orem, Utah.
Pricing is determined by the size, shape, and granite color. We have infant-size stones (grass markers) that start as low as $899. Single grass markers (for one person) start at $1,399. Companion grass markers (for two or more people) start at $2,199.
Check out our catalog for an idea of what we can offer. We stock a variety of upright monuments and slants, larger sizes, and specialize in custom, one-of-a-kind styles and shapes to fit any taste or budget.
To ensure we are giving you an accurate estimate on pricing, please request a quote.
We typically request a 50% deposit of the total cost before we reserve the granite and start the design approval process.
The remaining balance is required at the time that the proof is approved and before any engraving is started. This is because each order is custom and cannot be re-used or re-sold after the stone has been engraved.
We accept: Cash, personal and cashier checks, VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and debit cards. We can also text you a secure payment link to make the process fast and easy.
Each cemetery has different regulations and requirements regarding headstone sizing, placement, and whether or not the headstone can be flat or upright. We’ll do our best to help you navigate the specific regulations for your chosen cemetery.
In most cemeteries, a concrete border around the stone (sometimes called a mow strip) is required. This is determined by the individual cemetery’s regulations. The mow strip is there to help protect the stone from damage by lawn mowers, trimmers, and other equipment.
If you do not want a concrete border, we have all-granite options available.
Absolutely. This is called a “pre-need” stone. You can choose the design now and have the stone made in advance. You also pay today’s prices, which saves from future price increases.
We can install the stone at the cemetery on your plot.
We have many standard shapes and sizes of in-stock granite to choose from. There are two main types of headstones to choose from – grass markers and upright monuments.
Grass markers are typically installed flat, flush with the grass, which is a requirement in some cemeteries. These markers can also be set on a slight slope, if allowed by the cemetery.
Upright monuments come in several different shapes, from standard vertical monuments, to wedge-shaped slants, hearts and other unique shapes. Also available are five different styles of benches. Take a look at our gallery for visual examples!
Custom designs are our specialty. Our in-house artist (one of the owners of Walker Monument) is extremely talented and has over 30 years’ experience in design and monument building. We have thousands of designs on file that are 100% original to and copyrighted by Walker Monument.
Walker Monument no longer installs headstones, plaques, or portraits made by other companies due to issues related to quality of engraving, poor quality granite, size issues, warranty and other factors.
Absolutely! We have many customers who purchase either over the phone or via email, without ever setting foot in our showroom.
You can view our Virtual Showroom, catalogs, and galleries to see our completed work. We take responding promptly seriously. We serve all areas of Utah and surrounding portions of Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Colorado.
All designs are original to Walker Monument – as well as copyrighted. If you have found an identical design elsewhere, it was illegally copied.
We place high importance on more than just our designs, including the quality of our engraving, our excellent customer service, and our attention to detail. We want to make sure your experience is as smooth and painless as possible.
